i'm watching the new 'she diao' now! :D Main cha are played by hu ge and lin yi chen.
i haven finished watching it and i think i did something quite abnormal.haha.
i went back to watch parts of the old' she diao' acted by li ya peng and zhou xun, as well as parts of condor heroes, and i made comparisons of the 3 shows!

the new she diao have better cast for huang rong and guo jing, but maybe better is not a good word to use. Their style of cast is totally different. The style of acting and approach to the cha and filming itself is v different.It may be largely because of different target audience. I think the old she diao is filmed in a very classic way, but the new one is more...hmm..more close up shots and thus more emphasis on the the expressions of the characters. and overall, it just gives a diff feeling. It reminds me of ou xiang ju filming methods. Generally, both shows gives very different feelings to the audience due to the different takes on the characters and that piece of literature itself.

major diff : i prefer the old lao wan tong,mei chao feng and sha gu so much more. They are crafted in a more sophisticated way in a sense. Lao wan tong is more agile in both the old she diao and condor heroes.The actions and expressions of the new one is too deliberate and thus lost the essence of lao wan tong as a cha.

The new mei chao feng is bleh.. -_- the only thing i like is the computer effects of jiu ying bai gu zhua. Mei chao feng scenes in the prev she diao seems to be filmed in a very artistic way and works to make her more mysterious and evil as a cha. she's simply too awesome.The new one makes me feel like she's just a sub cha w/o much impact. :( she sucks.Though i did not go back to watch the mei chao feng scenes in the old she diao, i still have impressions of images in the scenes in my mind. that is how strong it is. :) its yrs ago ok! haha

i haven watched the new ying gu. However,in my impression, the old one is fantastic. esp the one in condor heroes. i doubt this one will be better than her.

i think i'm a biased audience. because i didn't read the book so my impressions of the cha are crafted by the first show made from the book.And i tend to side the first show i watch cuz it just seems to me like the best it could ever be!haha.

Generally, i prefer this new she diao due to the effective and so so lovable guo jing and huang rong.its definitely more convincing than the previous one.(li ya peng and zhou xun pair. zhou xun looks smarter though. just not spoilt and'tiao man' enough.)
But the side cha of the old she diao are way better. This new one is filmed in a way it attracts the younger audience! like the ou xiang ju element i mentioned. thats why of course i like it better! :D i guess that is the diff btwn taiwen/hk style and china's style! :D

the new yang kang is so hot. (definitely better than the last one.haha. i prefer his acting style too. the last one too boring and hateful.)but his parts are over emphasized. too long. detracts the attn away frm the main story. I haven finished watching yet, maybe there's a greater concept and reason behind this decision of the playwright and the director. he's a good actor though, a very convincing cha portrayed. i see the struggle in him, makes him a much rounder character.

i initially didn't like mu nian ci in the new version because the last one is so much chio er in comparison.haha. but act , she's not bad la. or maybe i'm just affected by the damn yang kang/mu nian ci song that kept getting stuck at my mind. anyways, i have an impression the old one is still better.she's more convincing in conveying her strong morals vs infatuation and love for yang kang. shall go back to watch sometime before judging agn.

condor heroes is still the best! artistic. young.pretty. meaningful.

i admire zhang ji zhong for being able to portray the romance and spirit of the story so strongly in the show.
major cha are well casted as well. cant think of any sucky cha.
